Our Team
Service Dogs of New Mexico was founded in 2017 by Bennie Muliere. As a disabled woman veteran she originally started SDNM to assist local Veterans with acquiring professionally trained service dogs at an affordable cost. There is no one size fits all when it comes to living with a disability, many programs often have difficult to navigate qualifications, require thousands of dollars to apply, and have wait lists that stretch 2 to 3 years before you ever see your dog. We knew we had to change this. Through custom tailored training programs, partnerships with local rescues & reputable breeders, and only working with the most experienced specialty dog trainers we are able to offer smaller wait lists, higher quality service dogs and lower more manageable costs for families. We continue to make a difference in the health and well-being of our community by educating businesses on issues regarding service animals and the law by conducting comprehensive seminars and classes.
